So Thankful

“In everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” I Thessalonians 5:18 (NASB) I want to be much more thankful — to cultivate an “everyday thankfulness”, not just a “Thanksgiving thankfulness”. Since my husband is originally from Canada, I like to take the opportunity to bless him by making a little celebration on Canadian Thanksgiving. Having just celebrated this, my thoughts have been turned to thankfulness. I am so very thankful for my husband! He may read a portion to me from one of his favorite books such as The Pursuit of God, by A. W. Tozer, or he may read a scripture to me, or he may just quietly and passionately share something from his heart with me. Words that impact me — words that cause me to think — words that challenge me. Sometimes I am sure that he probably thinks I am only listening out of courtesy but he keeps on anyway. I am glad that he keeps on challenging me and I am glad that God does speak to my heart. I am so thankful for my husband — for being the one person to have made the most significant spiritual impact on my life — for continuing to always point me in the ways of the Lord. Thanks sweetheart
