Making use of what you have on hand

bulbs-009.jpgMy daughter came up with a good idea for using things that she had on hand–a sparkling cider bottle that would be headed for the recycle bin and some fabric scraps!

Here are some pictures showing the fabric scraps! She stitched Happy Birthday to you” on this one but you could change that for another occasion as well!

Annaleah made a similar one for herself using paper instead of the fabric. She puts a taper candle in it and uses it as a birthday candle instead of using individual candles in the birthday dessert. A frugal idea, as well as avoiding all of the melting candle wax dripping into your birthday cake!

I have recycled one of the small green Spectrum olive oil bottles as a vase, and with a ribbon tied around the top and flowers from the garden or market, it looks really cute! It’s really so fun to see what you can do with what you have!

Blessings!
