A heart for missions

Our daughter just came back this past weekend from her second missions trip of the year, this time to Germany.

What a wonderful opportunity it is to be able to go and experience another culture. All of the young people that went on this trip shared on Sunday morning of their experiences there. How exciting to hear of their open hearts for the Lord and the ways that the Lord stretched them through things like street evangelism, when most of them didn’t know much of the language. One of the young men shared about the experience of listening to people worshiping the same God in another language. That was one of the things that really stuck out to my husband when we had an opportunity to go to Tokorozawa, Japan. What a blessed time that was for us! Having had a few short term Japanese students stay in our home, it was wonderful to go and experience their culture. Sometimes it seems we get so wrapped up in our life here that we forget that there is a world out there with people who need to hear about the Lord. And sometimes I get so wrapped up in my life here that I forget that there are people right here that need me to have a heart for missions. I pray that I will have that heart.

For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” Luke 19:10 (ESV)

Here are a few pictures of her trip to Germany!

  1. Thank you for this post. If there aren’t mission-minded people in the states holding the ropes, it would be very difficult for us to do what we do.
