Taking pleasure in the little things

A few of my favorite simplicities of life

  • Rag dolls
  • The sun shining in through the windows
  • Clothes hanging on the clothesline
  • The warmth and glow of a fire in the woodstove
  • Listening to the birds singing sweet songs in the morning
  • Geraniums blooming in the window boxes
  • Listening to a favorite hymn
  • Handmade gifts of love
  • A bouquet of garden flowers
  • The glow of candles filling the rooms with a sweet scent
  • Homemade quilts
  • Picking vegetables from the garden
  • Pretty teacups
  • A smile on a loved ones face

“Teach us delight in simple things”

Rudyard Kipling

May you find delight in just the simple things today!

  1. Thank you for reminding us to be satisfied with the simple things. I find that now that I’m home, I have much more time to truly appreciate all the little pleasures in life!

  2. What a lovely, peaceful post. It’s such a blessing to enjoy simple, gentle things. I love visiting your blog, it radiates peace.

  3. I stumbled across your blog via a link from somewhere else and just wanted to say that those simple things in your list “make my heart sing” as well :o)

Your blog is very uplifting and encouraging. I also enjoyed that meaningful hymn you posted from your Sunday service! It’s also one of my favourites!
