Shoebox fun

Our church is going to be participating in Operation Christmas Child through Samaritan’s Purse this year.  Bill had the responsibility of putting together two shoeboxes to show as examples to our congregation ~ and I had the fun job of helping him!  This past Saturday we went shopping for little gifts to put inside!  What a fun project this is!

Our family is going to do a box for a girl around Abbie’s age so that she can help pick out some things that someone her age might enjoy.  I am so glad that we are doing this as a church family.  What a wonderful opportunity to bless others at Christmas time!

  2. Dear Teri,

    Good evening to you!

I had such fun helping Bill with the church boxes. Abbie has made up a list of ideas already so we can start looking for things as we are out. I think it will be a blessing for Abbie to help with this ~ as well as to the young girl who receives it.

I hope you are enjoying a lovely evening!

  3. Dear Dallas,

It is exciting that our church is taking part in this! We have done this in the past but it has been a couple of years. I think it is such a wonderful way for families to be a blessing to others at the holiday time, and gives an opportunity to be able to pray for whoever will receive the box. What an impact it can have on the receiver and their family, as well as the family putting together the box. I hope our church can be used to bless many!

    Have a blessed week, Dallas!

  5. Our children love putting shoebox gifts together and I’m sure my wife and I will continue this practice long after they’re grown and have left home. I hope your OCC drive is very successful this year.

  6. We do this every year! I love it and have incorporated it into our 3D Girls Club so that the girls all have a shoebox stuffing party each year. Fun…..fun…..fun!

  7. Dear Kalianne,

I think this is a wonderful project because the whole family can be involved! I think it will be such a blessing to our daughter to be able to help pick out things that will be enjoyed by someone around her age. And I love seeing the pictures of the little children who have received these shoeboxes ~ such joy on their faces!!

    Blessings to you!
